MUMBAI: On Friday evening many parts of the city witnessed rains accompanied by loud thunder catching many Mumbaikars unaware.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said such thundershowers are expected to continue over the weekend.
Over the last few days, the temperatures had been soaring with 35.8 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
Rainfall recorded in the past nine hours today (8.30am-5.30pm) by the IMD Colaba observatory has been 8 mm and Santacruz observatory 0.7 mm.
The relative humidity meanwhile recorded at Colaba and Santacruz observatory has been 98 percent and 83 percent, respectively.
