Thousands of hearts broke today as the favorite bhai and mega Bollywood star of Mumbai, Salman Khan was sent to jail by Jodhpur court. Where thousands of hearts broke, there were few citizens who were happy with the decision.
Beloved bhai was sent to jail for the 1998 blackbuck killing case and has been fined a penalty of Rs.10,000. Jodhpur District Presiding Officer Devkumar Khatri pronounced Salman guilty for killing an endangered species during a hunting expedition in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Other accused who were ‘saath – saath’ with bhai in the case, Tabu, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre and Neelam were acquitted for lack of evidence.
Along with these bunch of Bollywood stars, there were two other accused, travel agent – Dushant Singh and Salman’s then assistant – Dinesh Gawre, who is still absconding.
‘Ek Tha Tiger’ star had a total of four cases related to the blackbuck killing incident. Tiger will spend a night in Jodhpur Central Jail as his bail plea hearing is scheduled for Friday morning.
Earlier, 52-year-old actor gained the title ‘innocent’ from the court by claiming that the blackbuck died of “natural causes” and he was “framed”. And currently, he is facing charges under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act. People who accompanied Salman on this hunting expedition have been charged under Section 51 read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code. The maximum punishment under section 51 is six years.
All the bhai fans will eagerly wait for the Friday sunrise as it is the day that decides whether Salman will be bailed out of the jail and sing ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ with the other acquitted stars or be in the jail with Asaram for five years.
