It’s that time of the year, which rekindles the essence of innocence, it’s November 14 – Children’s Day! On this day, Uber has decided to gift free rides to its customers in their vintage cars from 90’s. Yes, you read that right! With its vintage cars, such as the Contessa, Ambassador, Maruti 800, Padmini, and NE118, the American global transportation giant is partnering with Droom.in to mark the special day. As per cab aggregators, this would help people relive the memories of the nineties again.
By rolling out the vintage cars, Uber released in its official statement that, “All one needs to do is request for a joyride in one of these iconic cars. The joyride could last ten-fifteen minutes. There is no cost for this”.
To avail this free of cost ride, the rider would have to click on an icon called ‘Nostalgia’ on their Uber app. This is not it. Riders could get gift hampers, like Kismi toffees, slam books, Tinkle Comics, Phantom sweets, audio cassettes and more.
“This experience will be available only in Mumbai and Pune on November 14 from 1 pm to 3 pm. If connected, you’ll get a chance to enjoy a 15-minute joyride in a ‘90s car and receive your own hamper,” the official statement by Uber added.
According to Shailesh Sawlani, General Manager West, India, Uber, “Back to the 90s is a simple effort from our side to give our riders a break from their day to day routine, take a trip down memory lane. With this activation, we hope parents enjoy showing their children what the 90s were like”.
Sandeep Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Droom stated, “This is a great opportunity for the riders to rekindle their fond memories of the 90s with a nostalgic experience comprising renowned cars of the 90s and a surprise hamper with 90s memorabilia. We hope that this campaign that promises a trip down memory lane will ensure a memorable experience for the riders that they will cherish for a lifetime.”
